Qing Chestnut seedlings are some of the most productive chestnuts grown in the United States. According to the University of Missouri chestnut evaluations, Qing and its seedlings produce more pounds per tree by far than any other variety tested.
Discovered as a yard tree in Hickory Kentucky, it was named in 1998. The nuts are large and the kernel is sweet and easy to peel.
Trees are very blight resistant and will need an unrelated pollinator to bear best.
