Adams 5 pecan trees are great yard trees. Very low maintenance, healthy foliage all season long and an adequate crop of excellent quality nuts every year. Auburn University has evaluated this Georgia seedling for several years for pecan scab and has never seen an incident of scab on these trees.
A shuck split date of October 7 makes it good for many northern areas. Nut quality is outstanding. Nut size is classified as medium with nuts at 81 nuts per pound. Not really a commercial variety but if you want to make a few pies every year, this is a great tree.
