Description
Peruque Pecan has been a standard for northern pecans for many years. Peruque and Colby are familiar names as northern Pecans. Both of these were once scab resistant but now both need scab control.
Peruque is a type 1 pollinator. Nut size is 93 per pound and 60% kernel. The shells are very thin.
Peruque is still used as a cold hardy rootstock to graft other varieties on. Nuts ripen before Pawnee and production is consistent from year to year. It originated near St Charles Missouri and was named in 1953.
