Description
The Gafford Pecan is an Auburn University release that produces excellent quality nuts.
It is considered to be the most pest free selections they have trialed. This tree is
recommended for TN,AR,OK,NC and south. Type 1 pollen release, extra large pecans at 56 nuts/lb, 50% kernel, ripens around November 1st here in TN. Pecans are hardy in zones 5 to 9. For those in northern areas, north of the Ohio River, please read the link on this page.
Gafford makes a good yard tree and is well pollinated by McMillan and Forkert pecan trees
