Caney Pecan

Caney Pecan is from William Reid’s breeding program in Kansas. Caney is a cross between Pawnee and Major. Pawnee has excellent nut qualities and poor scab resistance and Major is an excellent flavored pecan with excellent scab resistance.

Caney is a type 1 pollinator. Nuts average 59 per pound with 52% kernel. Shuck split around the last week of September
