Pleas Hican is a Pecan Bitternut Hickory cross Carya illinoensis x coriformis. It is a vigorous and very ornamental tree. It should grow faster than its Bitternut parent giving a good shade tree in fewer years than the standard seedling would. Lush green foliage and the Hickory tree shape make this a good addition to a native tree landscape.
The flavor of this nut is uncertain. There have been reports of it being a nicely flavored nut and others of it being very much like its Bitternut parent.
