Clarksville Hican

Description

Clarksville Hican is a Shellbark x Pecan Hybrid. It carries the very large sized nut genetics of the Shellbark Hickory combined with the thin shelled genetics of the Pecan. Hybrid vigor makes a fast growing tree. Hicans tend to have a smaller nut crop than a straight Pecan but the flavor is a blend of pecan and hickory.

The tree is very ornamental. Foliage is a rich deep green and tree form is symetrical. Trees seem to be cold hardy. If you are wanting to add something from the Carya family into your landscape, Hicans fit the bill.
