Description
Apalachee Pecan Is the 28th variety released by the USDA. It was released in 2009 and the original cross between Moore and Schley was made in 1948. This is a high quality nut with good potential for high yield. It has good scab resistance. Nuts run 84 to the pound and 54% kernel. Nut meats are light in color and attractive and shell out onto mostly halves.
Pollination is type 1 and will pollinate well with Kanza, Lakota and Nacono. Nuts ripen in early October. Good tree form and strong branch angles
