Description

Monroe Honeylocust was found by Alex Tanke and originated from a Honeylocust planting in Kalamazoo Michigan. It seems to be fully hardy in zone 6. It is the only improved selection that is productive with cool summers. It has survived winter temperatures as low as -16

Monroe has been tested and yields pods with 35% sugar and 10% protien which is equal to or better than the best TVA varieties
