Description
B B Grainger #1 stands for Bernhiem/ Blankenship Grainger #1 one of several seedlings collected by Fred Blankenship by permission from the Bernhiem Arboretum in Kentucky. Several seedlings were collected underneath a large Grainger tree and from those, 2 were selected as having excellent qualities. #1 is large and ripens early. It shells easily into halves and Mr. Blankenship feels it is equal to the original Grainger in flavor and shelling quality.
